Kingston, NY – The Kingston Land Trust and City of Kingston’s Clerks Office are gearing up to plant out the Kingston City Hall Victory Garden in 2011.
Farmer Jesica Clark will present “Square Foot Gardening: Making the most of the land that you have” on Saturday, May 7th at 1:00pm. Square foot gardening is the practice of planning small but intensively planted gardens. The method is particularly well suited for areas with poor soil, beginning gardeners or as adaptive recreation for those with disabilities.
The Kingston City Hall Victory Garden is a 8′ x 8′ raised bed that was installed on Earth Day of 2008 with the support of Kathy Janeczek, Evy Larios and many volunteers.
If you wish to volunteer or would like further information on the garden or upcoming square foot garden presentation, please contact Rebecca Martin, Executive Director of the Kingston Land Trust at 845/877-5263 or email rebecca@kingstonlandtrust.org
