Matthew maintains a lifelong commitment to living and amplifying Indigenous ways. He is devoted to honoring and protecting Mother Earth and restoring the connection of culture to land.  Matthew has many years of experience in land restoration, permaculture and organic gardening.  A lifelong advocate for rights and justice, he also has an academic background in Indigenous studies, cultural anthropology, ecology, soundscape studies and wisdom traditions.  

As a musician, he is engaged in restoring the central role of music in cultural resilience; maintaining harmony, balance, and thriving between human culture and living systems. His work practices reflect the intersectionality of living restoration methods. It is his passion for caring for the land and connecting people to the land that attracted him to the Kingston Land Trust, where he seeks to be of service to the community.
